NYC MAYOR SAYS EXPLOSION IN PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERMINAL WAS FAILED TERROR ATTACK
Authorities have named the suspect in yesterday’s explosion in New York City as 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, a Bangladeshi man living in the United States since 2011.
Mayor Bill de Blasio termed yesterday’s action an “attempted terrorist attack.” Police Commissioner James O’Neill called it a “terror-related incident.”
Five people were injured in the blast, which investigators believe could have been far worse if the homemade bomb that Ullah strapped to himself had fully detonated. Ullah is in the hospital, but has told authorities he had become radicalized online.

Will the embattled Roy Moore gain a Republican seat in Alabama? Will his opponent, Doug Jones, pull off an unlikely win in a traditionally Republican state? What’s the real truth about the candidates?
“Making the story harder for voters to follow are Internet posts using false or made-up information to discredit the accusers. Here are a few claims we’ve swatted down,”reports Politifact, who rounded up a series of rumors and stories and rated them on believe-ability.
The biggest piece of news, of course, will be who voters choose as they head to the polls today in a race that has a very modern American political feel. Unfortunately.
